Driver flees scene after allegedly causing collision in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — An unidentified person reportedly caused a collision in Moses Lake early Sunday morning and fled the scene.

About 12:25 a.m. an unknown person was driving a 2004 Ford Expedition west on Randolph Road and reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and continued driving onto state Route 17. The Expedition was struck by a 2006 Dodge Caravan driven by Miranda Waggoner, 35, of Moses Lake. Waggoner’s vehicle rolled and came to a rest in the southbound lane. The Expedition also came to a rest in the southbound lane and the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Waggoner and her passengers, George Coutee, 33, of Moses Lake, Maddesyn Anderson, 29, of Moses Lake, and Edward Anderson, 29, of Moses Lake, were injured and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment.

SR-17 at Randolph Road was closed until about 8 a.m. Sunday morning as police investigated. The collision is still under investigation, according to the patrol.
