OTHELLO - The Moses Lake Monsters closed out their season with another impressive come from behind victory to win the June Jamboree in Othello recently.

The Lake Monsters finished the season 24-4 with four tournament wins as well as one second place finish.

Moses Lake opened the tournament against Eastmont on Saturday, knocking them off 8-3. Zachary Washburn struck out seven batters over three innings of work.

Cayden Hart and Jacob Martinez each collected two hits in the contest.

The Lake Monsters then shut down the Okanogan Valley Farmers 10-3. Chance Conahan and Carson Janke dominated on the hill allowing only one hit while striking out 13. Matthew Berg and Martinez each kicked in two hits at the plate.

Sunday morning started off with a slaughter as the Lake Monsters crushed the South Sound Power 20-2 in three innings. Seth Olson was 3 for 3 and David Prado was 2 for 2 as all the Lake Monsters hit.

They stayed hot in the semifinal with another matchup against the Farmers. The Lake Monsters got after it scoring five runs in the first and followed that with 12 in the second before closing out the game 22-4 in another mercy rule finish. Hart and Janke each went 3 for 3, while Jackson Purcell, Gavin Bingham, Washburn and Prado each added two hits.

The Lake Monsters came out flat in the Championship game against the Pasco Storm.

The game was tied 2-2 going into the fourth when the Storm bats came alive and the Lake Monsters started to melt down allowing nine runs in the inning and looking like the championship was going to be Pasco's to take home.

Yet, as they have done repeatedly during the season the Lake Monsters refused to roll over. They got two back in the bottom of the fourth to bring the game to 11-4 moving into the bottom of the fifth.

That is when the Monsters decided it was time to mash. The Lake Monsters put 13 runs on the board behind nine hits and three walks, taking the lead for good as they closed out the Storm 17-12 in the dramatic finish.

Zane Harden finished 4 for 4, while Collin Visker, Purcell, Prado and Olson each kicked in two hits.
