Moses Lake swimmer prepares for championships

WENATCHEE - Local swimmer Eric Kemper competed at a swim meet in Wenatchee recently and had a strong showing.

Kemper competes as an unattached swimmer, which means he isn't a member of any swim club.

Out of 12 events competed in total, Kemper was able to finish in the top 10 in 10 events. Kemper finished sixth in the 50-yard fly with a time of 32.93 seconds, a 1.33 second drop.

He also swam the 800-yard freestyle for the first time and took fourth in the event with a time of 11 minutes, 35.09 seconds. Another first time event for Kemper was the 400-yard individual medley.

Kemper was able to finish fifth with a time of 6 minutes, 28.48 seconds.

After his race in the 400-yard individual medley, Kemper had to make a quick turnaround to compete in the 200-yard fly.

With just three minutes of rest, Kemper swam in the 200-yard fly and finished in second place.

Finally, Kemper finished fifth in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1 minute, 17.29 seconds.

In two weeks Kemper will return to Wenatchee for a championship meet.
