ML man heading to Super Bowl

MOSES LAKE - Die hard Seahawks fan Bryan Loeffler is heading to the Super Bowl thanks to his dad, a long-time season ticket holder.

Loeffler, 38, said his dad, Bob Loeffler, has been a season ticket holder since the Seahawks' inaugural season back in 1976. All season ticket holders were entered into a lottery for tickets and Bob was one of the winners, netting two tickets to the game at $800 a ticket. Loeffler was excited to get the call from his dad last week.

"That's an understatement. I was ecstatic," he said.

Loeffler said he had to switch shifts at work to have this weekend off, even playing the phone message from his father for his work supervisor to convince him he was making the trip to New York.

Loeffler, whose lived in Moses Lake about four years but is originally from Redmond, said he remembers going to Seahawks' games with his father since he was about 5-years-old, sitting through many losing years. He said in the past, his father couldn't even give away his tickets to a game, now friends flock to him for a chance to attend a game.

Loeffler was also lucky enough to see the Seahawks beat the New Orleans Saints in this year's playoffs and is predicting a Seahawks win over the Denver Broncos, 27-21.

Loeffler said Richard Sherman is his favorite Seahawk and while Sherman has been criticized for his post-game comments following the NFC Championship game against the 49ers, Loeffler said he didn't have a problem with it.

"He's good enough, he backs it up," he said.

Loeffler and his father are flying to New York City Saturday and taking the Seahawks' shuttle to the game Sunday before reserving Monday to tour the Big Apple and returning to the Northwest Tuesday.
