| December 24, 2014 5:00 AM

QUINCY - Quincy police are seeking Adrian A. Diaz, 19, of Quincy, who is believed to have important information about a Dec. 19 shooting that may be gang-related.

On Friday, police responded to a report of shots fired near the 300 block of A Street Southeast in Quincy. The victim, Sergio Mendez, 19, no residence provided, was driven to the Quincy Valley Medical Center in a private vehicle, according to a Quincy Police Department release.

The area was blocked for four hours while officers completed their crime scene investigation.

According to Quincy police, three males were seen running from the area after the gunshots were heard. "At this point we do not have a motive for this shooting, but it is possibly gang-related," read a statement from Quincy Chief of Police Bob Heimbach.

Since Diaz is believed to have information about the incident, police would like to speak with him, he said.

Police are requesting if anyone knows Diaz's location or has any information about the incident to contact Officer Baughman or Detective Trujillo at 509-787-2222.
