YAKIMA - After playing near perfect soccer for over a month, Moses Lake (4-2, 7-4-1) has lost its last two matches.
The latest defeat coming on the road to Eisenhower in a shootout, 3-2.
The Chiefs led 2-0 at halftime after Alexis Meza was able to beat the Ike keeper in the 10th minute. Adrian Vasquez added to Moses Lake's lead when he converted on a penalty kick in the 29th minute.
Eisenhower cut into its deficit when Manny Mata scored minutes into the second half off an assist from Hector Chavez. Ike's Mario Pacheco notched the equalizer in the 68th minute.
Neither team was able to score in the first or second overtime so the match moved to penalty kicks. Moses Lake's last shootout experience came in the season opener against Ellensburg March 15. The Chiefs lost that match, 5-4.
Moses Lake's luck in shootouts didn't change as Andrew Camren was the only Chief to score, while Eisenhower was able to record four goals.
The Chiefs did receive a brief respite from Big Nine play for the team's alumni game Saturday. The varsity team was able to defeat the alumni team, 4-3.
Moses Lake will host Wenatchee Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Chiefs were able to defeat the Panthers, 3-2, on the road back on April 11.
