Holgar Joseph "Hal" Jensen

Holgar Joseph "Hal" Jensen, 62, of Boise, Idaho formerly of Everett, WA, died on Monday December 23rd, 2013. Hal sustained injuries during a fall while examining construction at the Pinto Dam (near Ephrata) that would enable the storage of more water when he fell 35 feet to the concrete at the facility, which forms the Billy Clapp Lake in Eastern Grant County.

A memorial was February 1st in Boise, Idaho. A memorial Mass 12:00 p.m.(Noon) is at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on March 19th,2014 in Devils Lake N.D. as well.

There is a get together afterwards at Geraldine Bingham's (Niece) House at 1021 1st St. N.E. Devils Lake, N.D. 58301. His internment & burial will be later at another appointed time.

Holgar Joseph Jensen was born March 19th, 1951 at home on the homestead at Woodlake, N.D. He attended school in Sheyenne, N.D. until about the age of 14 when his parents Olivea (Olive) and Willie Jensen moved to Ephrata, Washington with him. He finished his High School there in 1969. He received his baptism, reconciliation & confirmation at St. Micheal's Catholic Church, St. Micheal, N.D. He graduated from Washington State University in 1983. He worked with the Bureau before obtaining his degree in Civil Engineering and taking a job with a consulting firm in Everett, WA. Hal worked many unique jobs before his time with the Bureau and then after his retirement as well. He rejoined the Bureau in 2011 and moved to Boise Idaho.

He came up to North Dakota with Pam about 1971 and they married in 1974 and divorced in 1983. They have three daughters together Tiffany(Deceased in infancy),

Heather Perry(Jim) Andover, Kansas and Autumn Jensen-Baldwin(Richard) Lind, Washington. Hal met Leigh Sells and her daughter Donnie Tworkowski(Jamie);

which he adopted as his own he says and they started their life together. Hal, Pam and Leigh raised the girls and now have seven grandchildren who call him Papa.

He was treated at Sacred Heart Medical Center where last rites were administered. Hal loved to ride motorcycle and fulfilled some lifelong dreams while he was retired.

He loved traveling and traveled many places. Including a trip around The United States and into Canada. He loved Hockey and sports. He was athletic and loved people.

He was surrounded by family as he took his last breath. He embraced many hockey sons and their families. He loved (lived for) his children and grandchildren. Hal was great fun, caring,joyful, compassionate and dependable. He was proud of his girls. He is greatly missed by his friends and family.

Hal is survived by Leigh, Pam, his daughters & grandchildren, Brothers, Frances(Joan) Jensen Soap Lake, Washington, Edward(Pat) Jensen, James(Barb) Jensen & Julian(Sharon) Jensen all of Mn. Sisters, Bunny(Donny) Barker Becker, Mn. and Anna J.(Delbert) Bingham Minnewaukan, N.D. Aunt Shirley Doyle, Fridley, Mn. many nieces and nephews, great nephews cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Tiffany, parents, Olivea and Willie Jensen, uncles, Sylvester Doyle, Ambrose Doyle, Lewis(Shirley) Doyle, Harold(Ann)Doyle, Claire(Melva) Doyle, Wilfred(Lois) Doyle, Ray(Fern) Doyle, Earl Brinniger, Elmer Hjelden aunts, Florence(Earl) Brinninger, Isabella (Elmer) Hjelden, Melva Doyle, Fern Doyle nephews, Phillip, Lewis,John, Vern, Steven and Gary Bingham nieces Ruthanne Jensen grandparents Julia(Frisk) and Henry(Hal) Doyle.
