Several area teams will begin league play next week.

Ephrata recently took a non league game from the Eastmont Wildcats, 11-5. The Tigers (0-2, 3-3) began Central Washington Athletic Conference play with two losses against East Valley (Yakima) on March 29 before playing their final non league game against the Wildcats.

Ephrata will return to CWAC play for the remainder of the season Saturday when the Tigers host a doubleheader against Othello. First pitch is slated for 11 a.m.

Othello (1-3) is in the midst of a three-game skid that began with a 5-1 loss to Cascade on March 20.

Since loses its opening game to Mt. Spokane, Moses Lake (3-1) has notched three wins in a row against Richland and Mead twice. The Chiefs close non league play today, 4 p.m., against Stadium at Larson Field.

Moses Lake begins Columbia Basin Big Nine play on the road against Davis April 8.

The Warden Cougars begin South Central Athletic Conference East play against Royal on April 12.

After splitting a doubleheader with Warden, the Quincy Jacks are 3-2 overall and will play their final non league game against Colton Friday at 3 p.m. The game will be held at Big Bend Community College.

Softball

Othello (2-0, 4-0) hasn't slowed down much since last year's third place finish at the 2A state tournament. Head coach Rudy Ochoa recorded his 400th win with the program after the Huskies defeated Southridge, 12-0, in the first of two games.

Ephrata (2-2, 3-3) entered Spring Break reeling after two blowouts at the hands of Selah. The Tigers will host East Valley (Yakima) April 10 at 3:30 p.m.

After an abbreviated non league schedule, Moses Lake (1-1) is in the midst of a three week break. The Chiefs will return to the diamond April 15 to host Davis.

Moses Lake will look to defend its league and district titles to ensure a berth in the 4A state tournament.
