Elda B. Hall

Elda B. Hall, 79, longtime Moses Lake resident, died June 27, 2012 in Moses Lake. Elda was born December 13, 1932 in Weston, Idaho, the youngest of four children, to Andrew and Wilma (Bassett) Nielsen.

Elda graduated from High School in Blackfoot, Idaho and later attended Dental Assistant School in California. On April 12, 1953 she married William Russell "Russ" Hall in Reno, Nevada. While her husband served in the U.S. Air Force, she traveled and lived in several areas, Texas, California and following her husband's service in the Air Force, in Firth, Idaho. They relocated to Moses Lake in 1965, and settled in the Knolls Vista area, where she raised her five children. In 1977, they built their home on Lakeshore Drive, where they lived until retirement. She was employed with Dr. Laxton's dental office for 15 years, before retiring in 1991. Russ and Elda spent many winters in Quartzite, Arizona, where they developed many fond memories and gained many, many special friends, and spent the summers with their dear family in Moses Lake.

Elda enjoyed camping, boating, waterskiing, traveling, quilting, cross-stitch, pine-needle weaving, and 4-wheeling. In the early 1970's she served as a Campfire leader and later in the 1980's she and Russ served on the Moses Lake Float Committee for more than 10 years. They were very active members in the Moses Lake Car Club for more than 11 years.

Elda was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Wilma Nielsen.

She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 59 years, William Russell "Russ" Hall, children Lee (Sue) Hall, Bill (Tami DInges) Hall, Andrew Hall, Kent (Susie) Hall, Lanette (Billy) May, all of Moses Lake, WA; brothers Jay (Jean) Nielsen, Ruel (Rayola) Nielsen, all of Utah, and sister Veda (Dave) Bjornberg of Cheney, WA; 11 grandchildren: Amber (Brian) Knopp, Malissa Hall, April (Jedediah) Badders, Alana (Shane) Lowry, Jenifer Hall, Brad Hanson, William L. (Katie Wilson) Hall Jr., Billy J. (Toni) May, Ryan (Stevi) Hall, Chris Dinges, Shayla (Kelly) Blevins, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

Elda's wishes were for her family to have a celebration of her time with them. So in honoring her wishes, please come and help Elda's family celebrate her life by sharing your memories of her life during a "Remembrance of Elda's Life" scheduled from 2 - 4 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 in the 4-H Building on the Grant County Fairgrounds, 3953 Airway Dr., N.E., Moses Lake, WA 98837. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
