ROYAL CITY - The open house celebration of Royal City's 50th anniversary will be held at city hall today, Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

City Hall is the last building on the south side and east end of Camelia Street. The celebration will include a 50th birthday cake.

Royal City was incorporated as a fourth-class town on Feb. 14, 1962, and remained one until Jan. 15, 1985. That year's town council voted to change the status to city.
