Candidates urged for police, firefighter disability board

EPHRATA – The Grant County Law Enforcement & Fire Fighters Disability Board (LEOFF) is seeking an individual to fill the citizen-at-large position on the board, clerk Jill Hammond has announced.

The term is for two years. The candidates must be a residents of Grant County, and the one chosen shall serve without compensation.

The general purpose of the LEOFF Board is to consider claims for disability and sickness made by law enforcement officers or fire fighters as provided under the Washington law enforcement officers’ and fire fighters retirement system act.

The Grant County LEOFF Board typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Grant County Commissioners Hearing Room, 35 C St. NW, Ephrata.

Interested parties may submit a letter of interest, which will be accepted until December 18. They should be mailed to Grant County Disability Board, PO Box 37, Ephrata, WA 98823.
