Ann (Thornburg) Olson

Ann (Thornburg) Olson, 67, of Durant, Okla. passed away Oct. 27, 2006. Services were held at Brown's Durant Funeral Service Chapel on Nov. 2 with brother Lee Armstrong officiating.

Ann was born March 25, 1939, in San Jose, Calif. to Fred and Louise (Reese) Roberts. Ann attended school in Madill, Okla. and completed her schooling in Moses Lake. Ann and husband Gene Thornburg owned and operated the Mini Basket in Moses Lake for many years. Ann continued her schooling and became a drug and alcohol counselor, first in Moses Lake and then in Spokane at Deaconess Hospital. After the death of her husband Gene, she met and married Clinton Olson. They married in Couer d' Alene, Idaho on March, 26, 1999, and they later moved to Durant, Okla. Ann was of the Baptist faith and she adored her grandchildren and taking care of all kinds of animals. Ann never met a stranger and she loved to make people laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Louise Roberts; husband, Gene Thornburg; daughter, Karen Louise Johnson; and stepson Eric Eugene Olson.

Ann is survived by her husband Clinton Olson of the family home; sons Chris Johnson and wife Cathy of Selah, and Cody Johnson and wife Stacey of Spokane; grandchildren Richelle Johnson, Cheltsey Johnson, and Marcus Johnson, all of the family home; stepdaughters Patricia Hersh and husband George of Kansas City, Mo., Laura Jean Petrie and husband Ron of Topeka, Kan., and K.K. Olson Thomas and husband Rich of Topeka, Kan., Stepson Gary Scott Olson; 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
