NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD HEARING FOR INITIATIVE 728

Board of Directors of Moses Lake School District #161 of Grant County, Washington will hold a public hearing on Initiative 728 at the regular board meeting on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the MLSD Board Room, 1318 W. Ivy Ave. Public comment may be taken during the hearing.

Initiative 728 was approved by the voters on the November 2, 2000 ballot. The funds from this initiative can be used for the following purposes:

? Reduce class sizes in grades K-4

? Make selected class size reductions in grades 5- 12

? Provide extended learning for students in grades K-12

? Provide additional professional development for educators

? Provide early assistance for children who need pre-kindergarten support

? Provide improvements or additions to school facilities which are directly related to class size reductions and extended learning opportunities
