Ellen M. Harder

| November 4, 2005 8:00 PM

On Oct. 31, our beloved Ellen went home to be with the Lord. Ellen, 62, was born Feb. 3, 1943 and resided in Soap Lake. She is survived by her loving husband Melvin Harder and four wonderful children: Deborah Figueroa, Brenda Finke, Melissa Dishesare and Sonny Smith. She was one of 14 children and is survived by all: George Knutson, Jerry Knutson, Larry Knutson, Judy Zomack, Danny Knutson, Olie Knutson, Margaret Lode, Rose Mary Cunningham, Dorothy Schmidt, John Knutson, Roy Knutson, Ruth Kisler and Tim Knutson. She was a grandmother of 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Morris.

Ellen had several passions in life and besides her family and the Lord, her greatest passion was singing. She loved bringing joy to people's hearts by her beautiful voice. She sang for the nursing home in Quincy, the hospital in Ephrata and for five years she sang for the residents and staff at McKay Healthcare and Rehab Center in Soap Lake. She also shared her talents every Saturday at the park in downtown Soap Lake in the summer.

Ellen survived her last days at McKay Healthcare and Rehab Center in Soap Lake, so in lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to McKay Healthcare.

There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Lake City Foursquare Church 333 N. Central Dr. Moses Lake, on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005.
