SOAP LAKE — Soap Lake City Council member Kandis (Kandi) Lair is trailing in her effort to retain her council seat in unofficial election results released Tuesday.

As of Tuesday night, Lair had 58 votes (23.11 percent) to 193 for challenger Dave Tweedy (76.89 percent).

Grant County certified election administrator Tricia Stevens said ballots that were dropped off at ballot boxes around the county are collected after the official poll closing Tuesday and are not included in the results released Tuesday night. Ballots mailed Tuesday and write-in ballots are also not included, Stevens said. The next update is scheduled for late Wednesday afternoon.
