Thanks to Sen. Murray for supporting Boys & Girls Club

As the executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Columbia Basin, I wanted to publicly thank Sen. Patty Murray for her support of the youth we serve in the recently passed omnibus spending bill for fiscal year 2018. The critical programs funded in the omnibus will have a direct impact on the work our club does here in Moses Lake, Wash.

As a member of the Appropriations Committee, Sen. Murray is in a unique position to help determine the priorities of our federal government, and her support of the omnibus shows that she is willing to champion the needs of youth here in Moses Lake, as well as 4 million kids and teens served by Boys & Girls Clubs across the country.

For example, our club receives youth mentoring funding and we are so grateful that not only was that funding restored, but increased for the next fiscal year. This support is a key reason we will continue serving the over 1,000 club members that come through the doors of our four sites each year.

Thank you, Sen. Murray!
