Royal still No. 1, ACH drops one spot in AP poll

Connor Vanderweyst/Columbia Basin Herald The Royal Knights were voted No. 1 in the latest Associated Press Washington High School Prep Football Poll.

It wasn’t a precipitous fall, but Almira/Coulee-Hartline (ACH) did drop one spot in the latest Associated Press Washington High School Football Poll.

Odessa is the new No. 1 after defeating ACH 56-22 last Thursday. The Warriors checked in at No. 2 in Wednesday’s poll and even received one first-place vote.

Royal steamrolled then No. 5 Connell 42-0, cementing itself as the team to beat in Class 1A. The Knights were the unanimous choice for No. 1, unchanged from the rest of the season.

Royal heads to Kiona-Benton on and ACH is on the road at Pateros this Friday.
