Moses Lake man accused of raping teen

MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man is facing charges for allegedly raping a teenager and supplying the victim with marijuana.

Grant County prosecutors charged Alexis Pulido, 25, of Moses Lake, in Grant County Superior Court with third-degree child rape, distribution of marijuana to a minor-sexual motivation and two additional counts of distribution of marijuana to a minor.

On Dec. 4 the Moses Lake Police Department was made aware of Pulido after a 15-year-old girl claimed Pulido was her marijuana supplier and said he had raped her. In an interview with police the victim said she met Pulido on Facebook in May, which is when she said he started sending her messages and telling her he thinks she is pretty, according to court documents.

After declining several invitations, the victim said the first time she visited Pulido’s residence was about a month later in early June. She recalled Pulido hugging her and holding her close during their first encounter at his house, but she claimed nothing physical occurred.

In another meeting the victim said Pulido picked up her and her friend, went to a marijuana retailer and they smoked marijuana near the lake. She says she blocked him on Facebook, but they later made up and in the early morning hours of Dec. 1 she snuck out of her room as her mother slept and he picked her up and drove her to his residence.

Pulido allegedly attempted to kiss the girl, but she pulled back and he reportedly encouraged her to smoke marijuana, but he did not consume any himself. It was after she smoked that the victim says Pulido raped her. Police were able to set up a phone call between the victim and Pulido, during which he reportedly admitted to wearing a condom when they were together and told her he would purchase her “the day after pill.” The two set up at a time to meet in Moses Lake and Pulido was taken into custody at the location without further incident.

Police obtained a search warrant for Pulido’s residence and reportedly recovered marijuana, wrappers and a used condom. Pulido denied having any sexual activity with the victim and refused to give police a sample of his DNA.
