AUCTION Receipts Last Reported Year Ago
(12/20/2017)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total Receipts: 2,044 1,289 2,892

***MID-SESSION/CLOSE*** Compared to last sale two weeks ago, steers
and heifers sold mostly 2.00 to 6.00 higher, with the steers weighing 600
-650 lbs and over 700 lbs 8.00 to 9.00 higher than two weeks ago lightly
tested heavy steers. The immediate trade area is slowly coming out of a
deep freeze the past few days and making it hard on man and beast with
wind chills reported below -20 at times. Supportive cattle futures to
start the New Year trading was a welcome sight after an early December
slide. Feeder cattle supply included 61 percent Steers, 38 percent
Heifers, and 1 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 66
percent.
