Michael Ward Curry was born in Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, Wash. on April 13, 1964 and passed away 53 years later in the same hospital on Sept. 15, 2017. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and love of his life Nancy; their two beautiful daughters Jessicah and Christa; his parents Tom and Peggy Harless and his sisters Lisa Zeilenga, Debra Gilbreth, Deb Westrope and Peggy Taulango as well as 30 niece and seven cousins.

He graduated from Royal High School in 1982 and attended Northwest Nazarene College in 1982, Spokane Falls Community College from 1984-87, Big Bend Community College in 1989 and Central Washington University from 1989-91 and held a Masters of Education from Heritage University. Michael loved teaching and loved his students. He taught at Wahluke High School from 1991-94, Manson High School from 1994-97 and Chelan High School from 1997-2016.

Michael became a Christian early in his life and served the Lord with passion. He attended Church of the Nazarene in Royal City, Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in George, Little Stone Church in Chelan, Orondo Community Church, and Living Hope Community Church in Wenatchee. Some of his well-known activities included Chelan-Tojo Japan Exchange program, serving as master of ceremonies (his initials are M.C.) for countless school activities such as Junior Miss and Baccalaureate, Promise Keepers and The Word Retreat.

Life was an adventure to him and he lived it to the fullest. His stories were legendary. He was interested in all forms of art and cultures, and he spoke and wrote in many languages. Michael loved people and was blessed to have friends from all over the world. He loved the outdoors, sports and anything Chelan High School-related, as he loved promoting and supporting his students, staff, and community.

His celebration of life will be where he met his Word Retreat brothers, Living Hope Community Church, Wenatchee, Wash. at 4 p.m. Saturday Sept. 23.
